GOSHEN – Frederick David Richardson, 76, of Spruce Corner Road, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Baystate Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 14, 1937, to the late Frederick C. and Barbara (Bissell) Richardson.

He was predeceased by his wife Bertina (Galipault) "Tina" Richardson and his son Dean Richardson. He is survived by his daughter Nancy (Richardson) Harry.

He lived in Goshen most of his life. He graduated from Northampton High School where he played football.

He worked in construction for his earlier years and then worked at Smith College in the maintenance department until retirement.

He married Bertina (Galipault) Richardson Oct. 12, 1968. He was a member of the Council on Aging, Goshen Recreational Unlimited and the Masons.

He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and especially loved being with his grandchildren. He was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered for his good nature and kindness.

He will be missed by his daughter Nancy Harry, her husband Matthew Harry and three grandchildren, Naomi, Rebekah and Deanna, whom he loved dearly. He also leaves his sisters and brothers Janice and Don Schechterle, Marjorie and Fuzzy Frew, Mary Stevens, Judy Moynahan, Maryann and Glenn Richardson, Sylvia Richardson. He also leaves his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jean (Galipault) and Ronald Pollard, plus many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Earl Richardson and Barry Richardson.

Saturday, May 17, a graveside service will be held at the Goshen Cemetery for the family, followed by a gathering for friends and family at 1 p.m. in the Goshen Town Hall for a time of celebration of David's life. All are welcome to join us at 1 p.m. in the town hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104, in David's memory.

The Williamsburg Funeral Home is entrusted with his cremation.
