PALM COAST, Fla. - Robert Ward Lentilhon, 89, of Palm Coast, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 19, 2014.

He was born March 8, 1925, in East Orange, N.J., the son of Herbert Danforth Ward Lentilhon and Gertrude Beatrice Foss Lentilhon.
He moved to Melrose, Mass., Where he graduated high school and served four years in the U.S. Army in Germany and crossed over the Remagen Bridge on his 20th birthday, later earning a Bronze Star for his heroic achievements. Robert went on to attend the Army Specialized Training Corps at Yale University and later the University of Rhode Island and Boston University where he earned a degree to become a certified public accountant.
He married his first wife Marilyn Dutton. He taught accounting for 35 years at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He and his second wife spent their retirement years in St. Augustine, and in Belfast, Maine. They were proprietors of the Palmer House Bed and Breakfast in Belfast, Maine.
He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Lentilhon and his sister Caroline Reis.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carol (Strother) Lentilhon; daughter Janet Owen; son Thomas Lentilhon; daughter Sally Lentilhon; step-son Mark Strother; step-daughter Lynn Balk and husband Cornelius Balk; grandson Casey and wife Amelia Dwyer; nephew Robert Reis; and niece Judy Reis.
There will be a private interment in Hancock, Maine.
