EASTHAMPTON - Henry Niedzwecki, 87, formerly of Waterford, Connecticut, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Calvin Coolidge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Northampton.

Born in New London, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Felix and Maryanna (Tabaka) Niedzwecki.

Henry received his engineering degree from Georgetown University and retired as a contract administrator from Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, where he had worked for 38 years.

Henry is a World War II veteran serving with the United States Navy, attended Bulkeley High School in New London, Connecticut, was a member of the VFW in Waterford, Connecticut, the Special Auxiliary State Police and served in town politics. He was a communicant of St. Peter and Paul Church in New London, Connecticut.

Besides his parents, Henry is predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Bougie) Niedzwecki who passed away in 2013 and a brother Stanley Niedzwecki.

He leaves his sons Henry Niedzwecki and his wife Susan of Franklin, Tennessee, Douglas Niedzwecki and his wife Patricia Sulzycki of Easthampton, Kenneth Niedzwecki and his wife Pam of Westerly, Rhode Island, and Keith Niedzwecki of Attleboro; his grandchildren Jonathan, Jeffrey, Kate, Sarah and Steven; his great-granddaughter Aubrey; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Henry and his wife Evelyn "Irene" will be held Thursday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at Jordan Cemetery in Waterford, Connecticut. There are no calling hours. The Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home in Easthampton is handling his arrangements.
