CHICOPEE - Mary Louise Foster, 68, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, at her home in Chicopee.

Born Aug. 25, 1945, in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Pauline (Sicard) Allen. Mary grew up in Haydenville, and in 1964 she married Louis R. Foster, III. Later on she lived in several places in Hampshire County and in 2006 she settled in Chicopee. Her former husband Louis Foster, III, predeceased her in 2002.

Most of her life she was proud to be a home maker, Mary loved her family and friends and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and baking. Mary was blessed to of had her partner Roy Benoit, Sr., whom she shared many happy years with. Roy predeceased her in 2006.

She will be dearly missed by her son Louis R Foster, IV, and his wife Maribel of Chicopee, and her daughters Theresa Robert of Orange, and Donna Foster of Chicopee. Mary was a loving grandmother to Ashley, Tiffany, Cathleen, Brandon, Jorden and Janelle and a great-grandmother to Aundre, Jr., Alexa, Alexander and Isaiah. She also leaves Robin Granger of Dalton, Tina Atkinson of Easthampton, Roy Benoit of Worthington, and Ray Benoit of Westfield.

She was predeceased by her grandson Aundre Niles, her brother Frederick Allen and her sister Linda Rule.

Mary's funeral will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 9 a.m. from the Williamsburg Funeral Home, 3 South Main St., Haydenville, with a burial to follow in the Village Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, all are welcome to attend.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sister Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
