NORTHAMPTON- Edmund Robert Ciriello, of Northampton, and formerly of Stoneham, passed away Thursday at home.

He was born in 1934 in Boston to the late Harold and Aida Ciriello.

He attended Boston schools and entered the U.S. Army in 1957 and was Honorably Discharged six weeks later for being under age.

The following year Ed joined the U.S. Navy, serving in Guantamano Bay in ONI as a Naval Intelligence Officer. Following his enlistment, Ed moved to New York, Chicago and California, working for various Detective Agencies there as a Private Investigator. In 1974, Ed founded the Global School of Investigation which is still in operation today.

Ed leaves his beloved wife, Bobbe O'Brien Ciriello of Northampton; his brother, Harold and his wife Billie of Salem, N.H.; his brother, Robert and his wife Julie of Hanover; his sons, Nicholas and Michael of Chicago, Ill.; his daughter, Kris Dileva of Florida; and nieces and nephews.

The wake for Ed will be Friday Oct. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home in Stoneham. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home in Northampton.
