HATFIELD - Florence M. (Babiak) Tyler, 75, of 17 Straits Road, Hatfield, passed away Thursday evening at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst, with her sister at her side.

She was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Northampton, the daughter of the late Michael and Esther (Coffey) Babiak.
Florence grew up in Chesterfield, was a graduate of Huntington High School and attended Westfield State College.
She lived in Worthington for many years and was very active in town activities. She was a 4-H Leader for several years and chaperoned many outings and field trips. Florence enjoyed traveling and visiting many countries in Europe. She also visited Canada and many of the continental states. Florence worked for the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds for many years and retired after 27 years of faithful service.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and attending the various church suppers in the area.
In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by her brothers, David and George Babiak.
She leaves her devoted sister Margaret "Peggy" Riley of Hadley; two aunts Margaret Bonney of Hampden and Ella Coffey of Ft. Myers, Fla.; several caring cousins; and her little beloved companion, her dog, Abby.
A service for Florence will be held at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton.
