AMHERST - Donato John Champagne, 59, of South Point Drive, Amherst, died suddenly at his residence Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.

Don was born May 5, 1953, in Northampton, and was the son of Valmore David and Christine (Labato) Champagne.
He was educated in Northampton elementary schools and Amherst High School.
He worked for many years at Tubed Products Company as an adjuster, before his health failed forcing him to retire.
He loved the outdoors, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Donato D. Champagne, Jr., and Dustin Champagne, both of Fort Kent, Maine; one daughter, Desiree Patten and her husband Seth of Boston; one granddaughter, Quinn Patten; two brothers, Maurice Champagne and his wife Lori of Easthampton and David Champagne of Manchester, Conn.; three sisters, Cheryl A. Champagne of Burlington, Conn., Santina Champagne and Grace Doucette, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
At his request, all services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Graham Funderal Home, 18 Adams St., Easthampton, MA has been entrusted with providing for Don's care and services.
