SUNDERLAND - Florence C. (Gromaski) Sadowski, 98, of Sunderland, passed away peacefully March 23, 2013, at Calvin Coolidge Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 26, 1914, in Whately, to the late Alex and Mary (Sarafin) Gromaski.
Florence had attended Whately schools and had worked as a tobacco farmer in Whately.
Florence was a communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Church in South Deerfield.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph and his wife Libby of Holyoke and Arnold and his wife Elaine of Davie, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; her brother John Gromaski of Whately; her sisters Bertha Gromaski and Mary Rup, both of Whately and Eleanor Smith of Deerfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Florence was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, her sisters Alice, Rose and Lydia and her brothers Leslie and Alec.
The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff of Calvin Coolidge Nursing Home for all their love and care that they gave to Florence.
Her funeral will be Monday at 8 a.m. at the Drozdal Funeral Home, Northampton. A Requiem Mass will be held at 9 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church in South Deerfield, followed by the burial in Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Drozdal Funeral Home in Northampton.
