EASTHAMPTON - Roger Siemionko, 88, of Easthampton passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at Renaissance Manor in Holyoke after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Siemionko was a longtime resident of Easthampton. He attended schools in Hatfield and was a graduate of the Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in Northampton and worked as a carpenter, retiring in the late 80's.
He enjoyed building many beautiful homes in the area in his early years and then working in his workshop making wonderful pieces for family and friends.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Pulaski Club of Easthampton. He was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Parish of Easthampton, now Our Lady of the Valley Parish.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sylvia L. (Kramarz), who was at his bedside every day, and by his son, Roger, and wife, Susan, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and his daughter, Laurie, and her husband, Bill, of Easthampton. He also leaves his sister, Gertrude Zagrodnick, of Northampton. He also leaves behind his four loving grandchildren and six loving great-grandchildren, who will dearly miss their "Dziadziu," and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Katherine Siemionko, from Poland, his first wife, Mary Kuniey, and a brother, Merrill.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, at the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Easthampton, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, all of Easthampton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Holyoke VNA, 113 Hampden St., Holyoke MA 01040.
His family would like to deeply thank the staff of Holyoke Medical Center, the Calvin Coolidge rehab center, Holyoke Health Care Center and Renaissance Manor. Their caring ways made Roger comfortable in his last few months.
