EASTHAMPTON - Janice Ann (Panek) Bagg, 62, of Easthampton, passed away Friday May 3, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family.

Janice was born Aug. 28, 1950, in Holyoke. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Doris (Gauthier) Panek of South Hadley.
Jan attended Granby schools and graduated from South Hadley High School in 1968. She later received an associate's degree in medical assisting from Springfield Technical Community College.
Jan worked as a waitress for Abdows Big Boy, a data processor for Texon Inc., and the Sisters of Providence Hospital. For the past 10 years she worked for the Neurological Associates of Western Massachusetts and as a technician in the Cardiology Department of the Holyoke Medical Center.
Janice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Janice enjoyed reading, crocheting, boating on the Connecticut River and cherished her time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother Richard Panek in April of 2007.
Janice is survived by her husband Robert Bagg; her daughter Kristen Buckley and her husband Gareth and their son Shane Robert, of South Hadley; her son Jeffrey Bagg and his wife Megan (Kelley) and their daughter Layla Grace; her brother Gary F. Panek of Aften, N.Y.; her sister Barbara J. Mitchell of Belchertown; and her brother-in-law Russell Bagg and his wife Bonnie of Florida.
Calling hours for Janice will be held Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Ryder Funeral Home in South Hadley. A Prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m.
