WILLIAMSBURG - William B. Foster, 81, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home.

He was born July 24, 1932, in Camden-on-Gauley, W.Va. Bill served his country in the Army from 1951 to 1954 in Korea, was a combat veteran, and received three bronze stars.

In 1956, he married Mary (Wells) and they have lived in Williamsburg ever since. He worked for the Department of Natural Resources as a park ranger and also as a supervisor for the D.A.R. State Park in Goshen, along with other local state parks. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years Mary W. Foster, and his daughters Cindy Foster of Williamsburg, and Wendy Connell and her husband Edward of Goshen. Bill was blessed with his grandchildren Lisa, Bill and Brian and great-grandchildren Rhiannon, Varick, Scarlet, Jaeda, Kasey, Christian and Mackenzie.

To honor Bill's wishes, all services are private and at the convenience of the family, his cremation was entrusted to the Williamsburg Funeral Home.
