Clinton Dean VanMeter, age 69, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (February 5, 2014) at his residence in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on May 16, 1944 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Taylor L. and Ruby B. Hazelwood VanMeter.
He was a farmer, who enjoyed his John Deere tractors, baling hay, cattle trading, and his family. Clinton was a member of Anneta United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vada Alvey VanMeter, two sons, Carl VanMeter and his wife, Anita, of Leitchfield, and Neil VanMeter and his wife, Lynette, of Clarkson; one grandson, Austin VanMeter; one brother, Harold VanMeter and his wife, Odeline, of Leitchfield; one sister, Emma Tilford of Lebanon Junction; and Brent Clemons, a close friend that Clinton thought of as a third son.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, (February 8, 2014) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Anneta Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00p.m. Friday, and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
