Michael Keith Winn, 67, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
He was born September 12, 1946 in Louisville, KY to the late Garnett Elder Winn, Sr. and Nellie Hornsby Winn. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Lee and a brother, G.E. Winn.
Mr. Winn was a member of Christ the King Church in Madisonville. He retired from the Kentucky State Police. He also was a Sherriff's Deputy for Hopkins Co. He was a member of the Vietnam Vets Society. He was a commonwealth detective and victims advocate. He was an avid UK basketball fan. He loved computers, tinkering with electronics, big animal lover and reader.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara "Barbie" Winn; two daughters, Heather "Pandy" (Brian) Meggs of Columbus, MS and Araminta "Mint" (Will) Tadios of Maryland; four grandchildren, Michael Brocksmith of Columbus, MS, Sydney Brocksmith of Columbus, MS, Hunter Tadios of Maryland and Bryce Tadios of Maryland; several nieces and nephews and two dogs, Pookie Pup and Dumpy Dog. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with George Thompson officiating. Burial will be at a later date..
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins Co. Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
