Vivian Mae Jones Carter passed away in Georgetown, Texas on March 25, 2014 at the age of 90.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Ray Carter of Georgetown; daughter Janice Sue Lindsey and husband Royce of Georgetown; three grandchildren: Brian Lindsey and wife Marcie of Georgetown; Brett Lindsey and wife Diane of Sugar Land; and Julie Brown and husband Jime of Cedar Park; eleven great-grandchildren: Reagan Lindsey and wife Becca, Michael, Hannah, Sarah, Katie, Kristen and Kaila Lindsey, Jessica Masiel and husband Chris, Lauren, Matthew and Mark Brown; and great-great grandchild Samuel Masiel.
She was born in Hardin County, Kentucky on April 21, 1923 and was preceded in death by her parents Nellie and Claude Taylor and Estill Jones, sister Velma Jones, and brothers Floyd Jones and Howard Taylor.
She moved to Georgetown, Texas from Leitchfield, KY with her husband Ray in 2006 to be near their daughter and family, and resided at The Wesleyan at Scenic nursing home. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Vivian's family will gather for a time of visitation and support on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N. IH-35, Georgetown, Texas at 1:00PM. A service celebrating Vivian's life will follow 2:30PM with Chaplain Dean Hamilton officiating. Burial will be held privately at IOOF cemetery in Georgetown. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Brian and Brett Lindsey and Jim Brown and great-grandsons Reagan and Michael Lindsey and Matthew and Mark Brown.
