DELBARTON, W.Va. — Noah Ooten, 79, of Delbarton, passed away Wed., Oct. 16, 2013, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born October 29, 1933, at Bias, he was a son of the late Rhodes Sr. and Pearl Farley Ooten. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Connie Irene Ooten Adams; brothers, Tennis, Willis and Rhodes Jr. Ooten, and sister, Matilda Ferrell.
Mr. Ooten was a member of the Bethany Old Regular Baptist Church. He was retired as a Federal Mine Inspector and a retired coal miner. He served our country in the Korean Conflict in the Army.
Those left behind to cherish his memories include his wife of 58 years, Wanda Runyon Ooten; sons, Willis "Eddie" (Joann) Ooten and Noah Dale Ooten; daughter, Bernadine (Dennis) Maynard; sister, Nancy Salmons; grandchildren, Adam Ooten, Candace Maynard Hanson, Shnoah Ooten, Amy Ooten Koutsunis, Harold Preece, and Ethan Ooten; step grandchildren, Nicole Deskins, Bryan Vernatter and Brandon Adkins, and great-grandchildren, Ashton, Addison, Avery, Aaron and Jacob.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Sat., Oct. 19 at Chafin Funeral Home with Elders Albert Cable, Arthur May and David May officiating. Burial will follow in Ooten Cemetery at Bias.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
