James Connley Obituary

Jim Connley
September 27, 1925 - March 24, 2014

James Connley passed away March 24th, at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Junction.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 30th, 1:00 p.m. at the Palisade Methodist Church. Memorials will be dedicated to the erection of a cross on the church dome.
Jim is survived by wife, Venita; four daughters, Jinita Boyd, Gena Gragilia, Penny Pfantz of Iowa, Lynnette Summy from Palisade, nine grandchildren and 13 great.
Jim was a WWII sea going Marine, orderly to an Admiral of Fleet #7 in the Pacific. He was a great father, farmer, cattleman, and carpenter building the family home.
He was a manager for Iowa Electric and Expansion Manager for Iowa Water. He was a liaison to Washington D.C. for both companies and his speeches to congress are recorded in the congressional record.
Jim and his wife were instructors for Red Cross, Disaster Specialist pinned for international service. Community Service was important to Jim. He was organizer and president of the Square Dancers and Trail Riders; Boy Scout leader; member of Kiwanis, Engineers Club, VFW, and American Legion. Chairman of the administrative board of Grace Methodist Church and he was a founding father of the Evangelical Free Church in Marshalltown, Iowa.
