Connie Brownson

Connie Brownson April 29, 1937 – January 22, 2013 Connie was born in Mountainair, New Mexico to Tom and Dorothy Rummel. They lived in Albuquerque and Clovis, New Mexico before moving to Grand Junction in 1949. She graduated from Grand Juinction High School in 1955 and Cotty College in 1957. After attending Barnes Business School she worked at the Martin Company in Denver and married Lynn Brownson in June, 1961. They lived in Boulder and Arvada, Colorado before returning to Grand Junction in 1986. Connie was an avid knitter and made many hats for the homeless and blankets for Project Linus and the Chemotherapy Ward at St. Marys Hospital. She loved working with jewelry at the Heirlooms For Hospice store for the past ten years. Connie learned to repair and make various pieces out of old and broken jewelry. Connie is survived by her husband, Lynn Brownson; a daughter, Tracy Begano (Troy) of Erie, Colorado; her twin sister, Cathryn Clark of Grand Junction; a grandson, Zane Begano of Erie, and two nieces, Kellie Clark of Grand Junction and Kristie Nichols (Mike) and their son, Blake of Loveland, Colorado. Memorial services will take place on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Bookcliff Country Club, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice and Pallitive Care of Western Colorado.
