Ed Reed

Ed Reed October 8, 1942 – May 4, 2012 Ed Reed, a Fruita resident, and formerly a long time Steamboat Springs resident, died Friday, May 4th, at The Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. He was 69. The son of Donald and Norma Reed, Edward A. Reed was born October 8, 1942. He was raised in Denver, graduated from Englewood High School and attended Western State College in Gunnison and CU Denver. He is survived by his wife Betty, with whom he shared his life for 45 years; two sons, Brendan and wife, HyunJoo of New York City, NY; Aaron of Savannah, GA; one daughter, Heather Bellerud and husband, Martin of Seattle, WA, and two grandsons, William and Leo Bellerud of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by three brothers, Ronald of Aurora, CO; Steven of Grand Junction; Nordon of Colorado Springs; one sister, Ellen Hamil of Lake Nacmiento, CA, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Ken Hussman of Fruita. A member of The Colorado Association of Realtors and the Grand Junction Area Association of Realtors, Ed was a Broker Associate with Coldwell Banker in Grand Junction at the time of his death. He was a member and active volunteer of The Grand Junction Art Center, a member of The Western Colorado Bonsai Society, and of The Grand Valley Anglers. He also served on the United Way allocations committee. Ed loved being outdoors, hiking, biking, and fly fishing. He enjoyed water color painting and studying Asian art. Ed loved people, talking to them and learning from them. He was happiest spending time with his family whom he cherished. Memorial services for Ed will be held on Monday, July 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 790 26 1/2 Road in Grand Junction. Lunch will follow at the church.
