Edward B. Williams

Edward B. Williams November 27, 1918 – August 19, 2012 Edward was born on November 27, 1918, in Collbran, Colorado to Harley and Mary Williams. He passed away on Friday, August 19, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. One of eight children, Edward spent most of his early life in Plateau Valley. Following his graduation from Collbran High School, Edward and his new bride, Althea, moved to California where he worked in ranching on the Carrizo Plains. Upon returning to Colorado in 1945, Edward began his career as a heavy equipment operator working extensively in Utah and Western Colorado during the Uranium boom of the 1950's. In the late 1960's he joined the Morrison – Knudsen Construction Co. working in Ashcroft, Colorado in their iron mining operation, where he remained until his retirement in 1990. Edward's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his family. Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Althea and his daughter, Patricia. He is survived by his two sons, Michael and his wife, Judy of Nevada; Stephen and his wife, Susan of California; daughter, Linda of California; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Edward is also survived by three sisters, Agnes, Joan and Betty, plus numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
