Lynn Roy Campbell

Lynn Roy Campbell May 15, 1920 – March 20, 2013 Lynn Roy Campbell died March 20, 2013, in the Veterans Hospital, Grand Junction Colorado. He was born in Denver on May 15, 1920, to Orville and Emma (Haas) Campbell. Lynn was a life-long Coloradoan. He loved fishing the rivers, and often helped relatives with their farming/orcharding on the Western slope. He grew up in Denver, and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1938. Lynn met Mary Harriet Eaton at Central Christian Disciples of Christ Church and they married in 1941. Upon returning home from WWII European Theatre, he, along with his father, owned and operated Lakewood Printing & Stationery, Inc.. He was a member of the Lakewood Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and was an active member of the Lakewood Kiwanis Club. Following retirement, Lynn and Mary resided in Phoenix for many fun-filled years. Whether at a formal wedding, funeral, Sunday choir solo, or impromptu sing-along, his beautiful baritone singing voice was not only a joy for him, but a delight for all. He is survived by Mary H. Campbell, his wife of 72 years, and by daughter, Marilyn (Campbell) Connor of Anchorage, Alaska. Daughter Connie Lane Beck preceded him in death. His three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and innumerable friends will sorely miss his good humor and his gentlemanly demeanor. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to First Christian Church, Grand Junction or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado. Family members thank the many care-givers and support personnel during his final weeks. Memorial services will be Friday, March 29, 2013, at First Christian Church, 1326 N. 1st St., Grand Junction at 2:00 p.m.
