Bill Allen November 19, 1947 – August 2, 2012 Our loving husband and dad, Bill Allen (age 64), born November 19th, 1947, passed away with his wife and family present at Hospice Care Center on August 2nd, 2012. He will be missed greatly. Bill grew up in Mesa County and lived most of his life here. He married Sherry Ramsay on August 10th, 1966, and shared a long and loving marriage. He started out as a mechanic but became a self-taught machinist and engineer by trade. He loved to work on cars, but his great love was aircraft. He designed, built and flew the Hawk and Aggressor autogyros, and designed and built other experimental aircraft. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Dawn Marie Allen-Gough (Tom); Keith (Jenn); Tim (Jennifer), and Joe (Juli); grandchildren, Wynter Smith (Justin), Nathan, Kyle, Collin G., Jake, Cory, Callie, Taylor, Katlin, Ryan, Collin B., Caleb, and Eliana, and great-grandchildren, Isaac and Levi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dorothy. Bill's favorite saying: "Damn it, Sherry!" Memorial Service will be held at New Horizons, 641 Horizon Dr., Grand Junction, on August 11th at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
