Bobby Dean Benson
April 5, 1973 - August 12, 2014

Bobby Dean Benson, 41, native son of Nucla, CO, was found deceased Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in his motel room in Laramie, WY. On a job there, Bobby died peacefully and unexpectedly.
Raised in Nucla, Bobby graduated from Nucla High School while excelling in football and wrestling. He grew up hunting, fishing and camping in the nearby mountains. He loved horses, roping, riding and packing.
Bobby developed numerous skills through his association with the US Army, the US Forest Service, Halliburton, and Brand Energy and Infrastructure Service. He worked safety in the oil fields and was proficient as an electrical lineman, a truck driver, and a heavy equipment operator.
Preceding Bobby in death are his grandparents, Carl and Sylvia Benson, and Vita Louise Thomas.
Surviving Bobby are his mother, Rita Ann Benson, Grand Junction, CO; father, Bud Benson, Sonoita, AZ; brother, Brock Benson, Denver, CO; half brothers, Bill Kyle, John Kyle, and Tom Kyle; half sisters, Vianne Westbrook, Kathy Alexander, and Elizabeth Savage; aunt, Carleen Chiles, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, including longtime friend, Brenda Head-Jones.
A memorial service will be held in Nucla, CO, in September.
