Jose E. Romero May 12, 1931 – October 1, 2012 Jose E. Romero passed away on October 1, 2012, at the Palisade Living Center. He was 81 years old. Jose was born on May 12, 1931, in Talpa, NM to Juan G. and Teresina Romero. He married Josephine Casias in New Mexico. She passed away on March 24, 1986 in Grand Junction. Jose was a peach farmer. He served in the U.S. Army, participating in the Korean War. He is survived by daughters, Alma Bera; Angie (Benito) Sawyer; Pauline (Leo) Sisneros, and Bernice (Mac) Bera; brothers, Eloy (Rebecca) Romero of NV; and Polino (Barbara) Romero of CA; sisters, Tilla Valerio and Ellena Romero, both of NM; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Josephine, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia; and son, Steven. A Mass will be recited by Rev. Edmundo Valera on October 12th at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Graveside Military services will be at St. Anthony's at Calvary Cemetery in Orchard Mesa at 1:00 p.m.
