She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1978, and attended Bauder Fashion Design School for merchandising. Melissa married Larry Donald Walsh on March 7, 1981. After living in Grand Junction for several years, they moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1984, where they happily resided together for 29 years. Melissa was a member of Job's Daughters and Eastern Star.
