Paul H. Taylor June 19, 1918 – December 13, 2012 Paul was born in Riverton, Utah to George A. and Hettie (Williams) Taylor. He attended school in Davis County, graduating from Utah State with a degree in Civil Engineering. He went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation in St. George, Utah. Paul enlisted in the Navy on June 19, 1942. He was a torpedoman. He applied for and was accepted to the Naval Reserve Midshipman School at the University of Notre Dame. He graduated as a lieutenant junior grade and then served in the See Bees in the South Pacific. After discharge in 1946, he resumed work with the Bureau in St. George and was transfered to the Kemmerer, Wyoming Reclamation office. He met Anne M. Podlesnik in Kemmerer and they were married on May 22, 1948. Three children were born to this union, James, Kathleen, and Paula. Paul was tranfered to the Rock Springs office in 1951. He was the Project Manager there from 1961 to 1965. He was Bureau Representative in Cheyenne, WY for a short time and then accepted a transfer to Grand Junction in 1966 to work on projects that he had been trained for. Paul retired from the Bureau in 1973, after which he took up golfing, bowling, fishing and spent many hours on his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George E., Vern, and Sam Taylor; sister, Afton Morrison; grandson, Brian Snyder, and son-in-law, John Snyder. Paul is survived by his wife, Anne; children, James (Nancy) of Kichi, HI; Kathleen (Mil) of Hutchinson, KS, and Paula of Grand Junction; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held at on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. with a Memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, 3090B North 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
