Rebekah King Obituary

Rebekah Joy King April 26, 1990 – August 2, 2010 Rebekah Joy King of Grand Junction is now dancing with her heavenly Father. Bekah died in a tragic car accident in Grand Junction at the age of 20 on August 2, 2010. Bekah was born on April 26, 1990 in Durango, Colorado, to Timothy and Debbie King. She had two very special friends in her sisters, Hannah and Sarah. She graduated from home school and was a student at Mesa State College who especially loved her dancing class. She worshiped God freely with her church family of Restoration Ministries of Grand Junction. Oh, and she loved our little family mutt, Maximus Rex. She had the soul of an artist. She loved dancing, drama, singing and writing. She was also quite a good volleyball player. She had a quirky sense of humor and a beautiful smile to match. She was one of the lucky few to get a job at Cabela's. She had this special talent for attracting a lot of wonderful friends. Her biggest challenge in her last days was figuring out what she wanted to do with her life. She is survived by her parents, Tim and Debbie King; her sisters, Hannah Cunningham and Sarah King; her brother-in-law, Phil Cunningham, all of Grand Junction; her grandparents, Hubert and Dessa King of Hurst, Texas; Alvis and Lou Stallard of Topeka, Kansas as well as a host of uncles, aunts and cousins scattered throughout the country. We will be celebrating her life at First Presbyterian Church, 3940 27 1/2 Road on Saturday, August 7 at 10:00 a.m. Thank you so much for all of the love poured out to the family from the community, especially from our church family of Restoration Ministries, but also from all of Bekah's friends from Applebee's, Cabela's and elsewhere. Instead of donations, just pick someone and demonstrate how much you love them. "A life lived well is more precious than a life lived long."

Dear King family,
I had the pleasure of teaching Bekah in her first English composition course at the college only last semester. A very dedicated and interested student, she brightened up the room with her smile.
The world needs more Bekahs.

Dear Tim and Debbie, "Owl" and Lou,and Family,
You all are on our hearts and minds. We have been thinking of you and lifting your entire family to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are so sorry for your loss. Times like these make us all stop to ponder our days before the Lord who knows them all before there is even one of them. We also remember past times of great fellowship when the Halpin girls were little and having adventures in the orchard on Vorse Rd. We remember great times too, with Tim and Leslie in our house on Wayne ST. The times we invest in those we love are never forgotten, and go on with us into eternity where they cannot rust away but grow in beauty. We love you all. Though our paths don't cross as often as we might wish, we all look forward to heaven, our true home. Much love and affection to each of you. Love, Mike and Cathie Halpin

We didn't know Bekah, but we sure know her dad and mom and from the sound of the yearly letters, Bekah was a very lovely young lady who touched many, many lives in her short life here on earth. Our hearts go out to you, Tim and Debbie, Hannah and Sarah and the rest of the family. May the Lord wrap His loving arms around you during this time.

I am sorry for your loss. May the LORD comfort your family in your sorrow. May he be your strength in the days and months/years ahead. May you find peace in knowing she is with the King of Kings dancing on golden streets. I pray God will carry you when you feel you can not walk due to a broken heart. I pray he restores joy to your soul despite the loss on this earth. I pray what satan has intended for evil God will use for his Glory. May he bless your family in every way.
