Wanda G. Lehl-Jones November 16, 1929 – December 25, 2012 Wanda Gertrude Lehl-Jones passed away peacefully December 25, 2012, after a short battle with Leukemia. She was the youngest child of Darwin and Rozella (Young) Bolton, born November 16, 1929, on the family farm in Lyons, Kansas. She attended an one room elementary school and the high school in the Lyons area. In September 1947, she married Gilbert C. McLaughlin and lived in Ellinwood and Pratt, Kansas before moving to Farmington, NM and then Grand Junction. Their marriage ended in divorce. They have three children, Terry House, Sherry McLaughlin, and Garry McLaughlin; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, all survive her. In October 1971, she married Leonard C. Lehl (the couple were together until his death in 1986). She later married Kenneth L. Jones,and lived in Arizona until his death, returning to Grand Junction in 2008. She is also survived by sisters, Jeanette Miller of Chase, KS, and Pearl Botlik of Shawnee, OK, and nieces and nephews. Her father and mother; first husband, Gilbert; sister, Ruth; brother, Joe, and grandson, Trevor preceded her in death. She worked a variety of jobs until becoming the alterations lady for Squires Men Shop and Dahle's Big and Tall. She later opened her own alterations business. She loved fishing, traveling, gardening, reading westerns, quilting and her dogs, Honey and Shadow. She belonged to the Spirit of Life Christian Fellowship Church and they were instrumental in her care during the illness. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
