Jim Burks Moore October 5, 1949 – March 24, 2012 Jim Burks Moore was born October 5, 1949, in Porterville, CA to Willie B. and Ada Marie Moore. Jim joined older brother, Sherman and half-brothers, Carl and Gayle Cashion. When Jim was about three, the family moved to Flag, AR to farm. The droughts of 1952, 53, and 54, turned the family back to Porterville, CA. Jim's father was hired by Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. His job was to make the road that ran alongside the railroad which involved moving all the time. The boys would move every two or three weeks making learning hard. Then, they would stay in one place to be able to learn but the family needed Dad, so they would move again. The family lived in CA, AZ, and NM.
