Annie Laurie Watson January 12, 1926 – May 23, 2010 Annie was born in Hammond, Louisiana, attended college in Tennessee, and lived most of her life in Grand Junction, CO before retiring to Montrose, CO a few years ago. She was the third of five daughters born to Joseph and Annie Laurie Perkins. Annie was truly touched by an angel and in turn touched the hearts of so many she encountered. We are forever grateful for all the years we shared her love. Her life was centered not only on family but on doing what she could for others. She was perhaps the most unselfish person you would ever meet. Her loving smile, contagious laugh, empathetic ways, and kind soul will forever be remembered. Annie became a nurse after her children were grown, a natural outgrowth of her care for others. She was an exceptional gardener of fruits and vegetables as well as flowers. All friends and neighbors benefited from this bounty. She loved animals of all kinds, camping, volunteering for church activities, boating, traveling, hiking, and homemaking. Her greatest joy was her family. Annie is survived by her husband, John, with whom she had a loving marriage for 65 years; two sisters, Kay Essex and JoAnn Stevens; two sons, Dan and Tom Watson; five grandchildren, Dana, Kellan, Skye, Chandis, and Kristiina, and four great grandchildren. Annie's love of God gave her the peace of knowing that this life is only the beginning. Services for Annie will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN), P.O. Box 220, West Frankfort, IL 62896.
