William Joseph Duncan January 10, 1934 – December 5, 2011 William "Bill" Joseph Duncan, 77, died early Monday morning, December 5, 2011, at Hospice Care of Western Colorado. He was born in Great Falls, Montana, on January 10, 1934, to Joseph and Minnie Duncan. William married his sweetheart, Celia Lyman on May 24, 1952. He worked as a warehouse supervisor and assistant building manager for the Great Falls School District for more than 30 years. He had a knack for working with his hands-landscaping his yard, doing home repairs and improving the mechanics of just about anything. After retiring, William moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he and his wife lived for 17 years. In 1999, they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where William was a member of First Congregational Church. He enjoyed fly-fishing, hunting and woodworking. William was a warm, loving husband, father, and grandfather, who always had a colorful story to share, a silly song to sing or a warm hug to give. His dashing smile and hearty laugh are unforgettable. William is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Duncan; and a sister, Louise Pelensky. He is survived by his wife, Celia; a sister, Jessie Ellen Rakes; children, Joan Edmonds (Rodney); Joseph Duncan (Kristin), and Jeffery Duncan; grandchildren, William Edmonds, Lindsay Wickman, Terrin Jacobson and David Duncan, and great-grandchildren, Talinn Wickman and Paisley Edmonds. William's life will be celebrated with a private family service. Contributions can be sent to Hospice Care of Western Colorado, 3090 North 12th Street, Unit B, Grand Junction, CO 81506 in memory of William.
