David Jose Urban August 22, 1939 - October 24, 2012 David Jose Urban, 73, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away in his home, of natural causes on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. David was born in Pagosa Springs to Matilda Archuleta and Urban Lujan Garcia. He was the owner and operator of a fender and body shop. He was a man of many hobbies, and especially interested in hunting, fishing, painting, body work, restoring old cars, arts and crafts. David was proud to serve his country with the United States Army and served in the Korean War. David is survived by many who will treasure his memory forever, wife and the love of his life, Betty Jane Watson; seven daughters, Matilda Garcia, Lorraine (Toby) Rodriguez, Betty Lou Garcia, Angel (Mark) Howell, Yvonne (Dan) Belcastro, Dianna (Rick) Sheldon, and Betty (Chris) Higuera; his son, David Garcia; his brother, Chris (Sandra) Garcia, and his sisters, Verna Garcia, Maria (Don) Schenkeiar, and Patsy Archuleta. David is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great, and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matilda Archuleta and Urban Lujan Garcia; a daughter, Becky Garcia, and his first wife, Betty. David was loved greatly and will be forever cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A private family viewing has taken place. There will be a graveside service Monday, October 29, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mesa Funeral Service.
