U.L. Ulric "Al" Freeman December 20, 1928 – December 28, 2012 "Al" Freeman passed away quietly into his Savior's embrace, Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family at home. Al was born in La Junta, Colordo to Walter H. and Ufa B. (Baker) Freeman. He married Barbara D. Scott on January 27, 1951, and adopted five children, Daniel, Paul, Gregory, Philip, and Vincent. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Martha, Kay, and Margaret, and brother, Walter. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, and sons, Gregory L. Freeman of Grand Junction, and Philip E. Freeman of Fort Myers Beach, FL, and his brother, David W. Freeman of La Junta, CO. After graduating from Gunnison County High School in 1948, he attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He entered the Air Force and later married Barbara. After studying insurance at the University of Denver, he entered a long career of Insurance Salesmanship. He owned the Roy Don Agency in Grand Junction. Later, his business interests included the Fruita State Bank, Valley Trash, and Equity Bank Mortgage Services, as part owners and operators. He was a member of the Redlands Lions and the Civitan Clubs for many years. He loved to work in his yard, and tinker mechanically with the how and why things work, and the Denver Broncos. He loved his family, friends, and aquaintances. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Graveside services with Military Honors will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado at 10:00 a.m., 2830 Riverside Road in Grand Junction. A celebration of life will follow the services at the home of Gregory Freeman.
