Robert Edward Barton January 23, 1936 – January 16, 2013 Bob grew up in Grand Junction, graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1954, and attended Mesa College. He was a Boy Scout and loved to ski. He was drafted into the Army and worked for two years at White Sands as an antiaircraft missile technician. Bob knew machinery and was adventurous, moving from operating a bulldozer at a uranium mine in Utah, running power plant maintenance on mining equipment, to working on power plants in San Salvador and the Grand Bahama Islands, to tracking station power plants in Thailand and Iran, to sub-sea drilling equipment in Africa, Asia, and Mexico. Bob was a quiet and adventurous man who loved beer, the Broncos, fast cars, piloting his own plane, foreign places and exotic people. He is survived by daughter, Amy Laili of Singapore, and six sisters, Sylvia Bingham of Fruita; Marjorie True of Paonia; Judy Barton of Bend, OR; Mary Alice Johnson of Sooke, BC, Canada; Jennie Brouse of Oregon City, OR, and Betsy Powers of Springfield, VA.
