Milo Wesley Vig of Grand Junction, CO died December 21, 2013 at the VA Hospital. He was 77.
He was born January 21, 1936 to Jens and Sarah Vig in Grenora, ND. He spent his childhood on the farm and graduated from Grenora High School and then attended Mesa College. He had been a resident of Grand Junction from 1962-2013. He married Mary Louise Patterson on August 2, 1958 in Whittier, CA. She survives.
Milo worked for the MC Sheriff's Department, MC Courthouse and MC Library. He served in the Marine Corp for four years, and later in the National Guard. He was a football and baseball fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Broncos; Minnesota Twins and Rockies and was a member of the Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed gardening, country music, hunting, horse shoes and especially family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Timothy and Kevin Vig; a daughter, Tammy Goletz; brothers, Phalen, Virgil and Jerry Vig; a sister Alteen Mortensen; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Randall.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Clifton Christian Church followed by a Honor Guard at 1 p.m. at the VA Cemetery.
