Jerry Baldwin passed away March 8, 2014, in Grand Junction, CO, at St. Mary's Hospital, of natural causes.
He was born September 4, 1952, in Isola, MS. He was the son of James Hubert Baldwin and Mavis Lucille (Baldwin) Meadows. He went to grade school in Belzoni, MS then graduated from Deer Creek Academy in Arcola, MS. Jerry joined the Air Force on September 21, 1971. He proudly served his Country until September 2, 1980. He was an administrative clerk, and his duties also included crypto maintenance, then crossed over to the Department of Defenses as an engineering technician in 1980 through 2008, where he served in various locations and was deployed overseas to serve his Country several times. While serving, he completed his Bachelors Degree and received numerous awards and citations from the Department of Defense, including a Medal of Valor. In 2005, Jerry received "Civilian of the Year" award from the Department of Defense. While serving in the Air Force, Jerry married Donna Dews. They were married for a short time and had one daughter, Tina Marie Baldwin.
Jerry met the love of his life, Leslie Felter, of Layton, Utah, and they were married in 1987.
Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the out doors, four wheeling, riding his Harley, and spending time with his wife, special friends, and family. He loved his garden, and enjoyed growing his own Habaneros and hot peppers of many kinds. He loved his Chiweenie, "Harley Davidson". He always loved to be in the service of others.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Leslie of Grand Junction; daughter, Tina Marie Baldwin of New Jersey; two sisters, Phyllis Evans of Church Hill, TN, and Patricia Heranney of Avon, MS; two brothers, Jimmy (Mary Lee) Baldwin of Gastra, MI, and Johnny (Bonnie) Baldwin of Iron River, MI.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2949 U.S. 50, in Orchard Mesa.
