Ruth Keithley Obituary

Ruth Virginia Morrow Keithley
October 24, 1924 - May 8, 2016
Ruth Virginia Morrow Keithley passed peacefully into heaven on May 8, 2016.
Ruth was born on Battlement Mesa, October 24th, 1924, to Jack Morrow and Julia Williams Morrow. As a young child, she adored accompanying her father on horseback to the Battlements, riding cattle pool, checking and doctoring the cattle. She idolized her father.
Ruth was married to Earl Keithley Jr. in 1944.
She loved her flowers, gardening, watching basketball games, and her bummer lambs and sheep. She and Sonny worked side by side on their farm raising sugar beets, potatoes, hay, and the boys.
Ruth had a beautiful voice. She was passionate about playing the piano and singing on Sunday at her Baptist Church. She continued playing and singing all her life.
She possessed an undying love for her four sons, Dee, Dick, Danny, and David. Ruth was also a "mother to many".
Surviving Ruth are her four sons; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous daughters-in-law; nieces; nephews, and many dear friends.
A luncheon will be held at the First Baptist Church in Silt, CO at 12 noon on Saturday, May 14. Services will follow at the church. Interment will be at the Battlement Mesa Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Garfield County Building Fund.

The world is a better place because God loaned Ruth to us here on earth. She blessed so many lives and lived a Christian life every day in every way. She seemed to have just the right mix of stern and compassion when dealing with children. She will be truly missed here as heaven rejoicing with her return. Rest in peace my friend.

I will never forget how Ruth always treated me just like "one of the family". She really was one of the most special of cousins and I feel blessed to have spent a couple of days learning to be a farmer and rancher on Sonny/Ruth's ranch working with Dee, Dick, Danny and David when I was 11 years old. Via Con Dios, Ruth!
