Barbara was born in Colusa, California and raised on her family ranch established in 1853. A Stanford University graduate in nursing, her mother's profession, she settled in San Francisco where she met Art, the love of her life and husband of 59 years.
Barbara's boundless energy and enthusiasm led to a rich, full life. After retiring from nursing to raise her children, she returned to enjoy working as Director of Infection Control for French Hospital. Barbara delighted in skiing, playing piano, dancing, appreciating nature, and a wealth of dear friends.
Barbara now joins her beloved husband Arthur deceased July 2004. She remains loved and survived by sons Martin and Richard (Marin Co.), her cherished granddaughter Hilary Benson (Truckee), brothers William and Robert Wallace, and many nieces and nephews. Always the life of the party, she will be missed.
Family and friends are invited to the services, Friday, July 11, 2014. Visitation will begin at 12 noon, followed by the Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia's Church, 2555 - 17th Avenue, San Francisco, California. Burial and Reception will follow at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, California.
