Lincoln Allen Obituary

CLEAR LAKE - Lincoln Jon Allen, 41, of Fairfax, previously of Clear Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the VFW of Clear Lake Friends and relatives with joyful hearts and happy memories are invited to join in the celebration.
Survivors include his fiancée Kelly O'Hara, sons Gavin Allen and Drake Allen, his mother Valerie Kern and her husband Tom, his father Kent Burgess and girlfriend Carol Hebert, his stepfather John Allen, sister Lisa Miller and her husband Mark, sister Leslie Burgess, sister Libbey Wood and her husband Troy, brother Nathan Burgess and his wife Stephanie and step-brother Kyle Kern and his wife Amy. A grandma, many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will also miss his laughter and great stories.
Lincoln was a dedicated father who took joy in attending his son's sporting events supportive of both wins and losses. Lincoln loved to share stories about his sons' childhood and took great pride in their first steps and all their achievements thereafter. Lincoln was especially proud of his sons' intellect and the kindness they showed to others.
Lincoln was owner and operator of Big Dog Chimney Services. The name originated from Lincoln's deep love for big dogs. Lincoln and Kelly provided the special service of rescuing Great Danes. In addition to rescuing dogs Lincoln loved gardening, was a great cook, and loved playing softball. Lincoln was a huge Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan. As with friends and family he supported his teams win or lose. His strong character trait of dedication despite the odds or popularity is all too rare in this world and will truly be missed.
True to character Lincoln left behind a loving legacy to help others. Lincoln donated his tissues for transplant and organs for research with the capacity to help up to 500 people.

Oh man Lincoln where to start.....You are an original...one of the best.....a person I actually called a friend! From the times in scouts and just hanging out you were just a good guy and that's hard to find in this world. You were not judgmental nor a snob....just a good friend that could put a person at ease. A good friend and I hope they are paying attention up there where you're going because with the warmness you showed the ones that needed it the most, you should be put at the head of the line for your wings!
