Lawrence Edison "Trudy" McDaniel of 573 Cascade Road, Cascade, VA died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 4, 1928 in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Bessie Earles McDaniel and the late Edward Smith McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel was married to Shirley Hardy McDaniel of the residence. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. McDaniel retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as a Maintenance Supervisor with over 20 years of service. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Trudi McLin and husband, Timothy of Sanford, NC and three grandchildren: MacKenzie Bryant, Sheridan Bryant and Nathan Bryant. In addition to his parents, Mr. McDaniel was predeceased by one brother, Earl McDaniel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc. West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. Danville, VA with the Rev. Wayne Mayberry officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc. West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. Danville, VA and other times at the residence, 573 Cascade Road, Cascade, VA.
