Oscar Kennedy Obituary
GRETNA, Va. - Oscar Leon Kennedy, age 65, of 210 Leftwich Street, Gretna died Sunday, May 30, 2004.
Born February 6, 1939 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late James Haile Kennedy and Louise Gladys Matherly Kennedy. He was a Deacon and member of Gretna Christian Church. Following his retirement from the Lane Co. he worked with Custer Ice.
He is survived by his wife, Ileen Rigney Kennedy of the residence; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Regina Kennedy of Gretna; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Kenneth Keatts of Gretna; two brothers, Irvin Kennedy of Richmond and Wayne Kennedy of Sandy Level; three grandchildren, Monica Lynn Kennedy, Hannah Noel Keatts and Gabrielle Hope Keatts.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the Colbert-Moran Chapel by the Rev. Charles Ellis and the Rev. Roy Parker. Interment will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2 and other times at the residence.
Colbert-Moran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
