Charlie Lee "C.L." Dodson Charlie Lee "C.L." Dodson, 85, went to his peaceful, eternal home with the Lord on Friday, November 23, 2012 in Bedford, VA surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Charlie and Ethel Farthing Dodson on April 18, 1927 in Keeling, VA.

He was pre deceased by his brother, Beverly Dodson and his sister, Rose Lester. He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Milam and Mary Helen Roberts. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.

His loving wife, Wilma Shore Dodson, of 65 years, survives him. They were married on September 20, 1947. They spent their retirement years traveling the US and volunteering in Florida State Parks. C.L. was a hardworking man who worked for Goodyear Rubber Company in Danville, VA for 18 years as a supervisor. While he lived in Danville, C.L. attended Forest Lawn Baptist Church and Woodlawn Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Once he moved to Bedford, he was a member of Sedalia Baptist Church. C.L. is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Satterfield and her husband Norman of Bedford. He was pre deceased by his daughter, Diane Welch. Also surviving C.L. are his granddaughter, Leslie Satterfield Doss and her husband, Scott Doss, of Bedford; and a grandson, Ben Satterfield and his wife Heidi of Lynchburg. He has three wonderful great grandchildren that lit up his life: Alle Doss, of Bedford; Gavin and Evie Satterfield of Lynchburg.

The family would like to thank Centra Hospice of Lynchburg, VA for providing wonderful care to C.L. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Danville, VA with the Reverend Mike Jones and the Reverend William Blalock officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Sedalia Baptist Church at 1072 Charlemont Rd Big Island, VA 24526.
