Carl Elvis Seaton, age 92 of Glen Carbon, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 in Glen Carbon.
He was born Saturday, January 15, 1921 in Glen Carbon, the son of Elvis and Antonia (Skach) Seaton. He married Wanda Orman on October 18, 1941. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2007.
Mr Seaton was a charter member of the LeClaire Christian Church, where he served as Elder and Bible School Teach and Choir member. He was also a Veteran of WWII, having served in the US Air Force in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. He worked for Shell Oil as an operating Engineer and as a rural mail carrier for Edwardsville, retiring in 1983.
Survivors include daughters Patti (Grady) Ambuel of Bunker Hill, IL and Pamela Kay (Willard) Davis of Bunker Hill, IL, and son Kenneth (Sandy) Seaton of Shawnee, KS; four grandchildren: Eric (Katie) Davis of Staunton, IL, Carla (Luke) Zimmer of Bunker Hill, IL, Jana Michelle (Jami) Deters of Olatha, KS, and Brian J (Jessica) Seaton of Olatha, KS; eight great grandchildren: Drew Davis of Staunton, IL, Abby Davis of Staunton, IL, Carter Zimmer of Glen Carbon, IL, Cooper Zimmer of Glen Carbon, IL, Julian Brillantes of Basehor, KS, Trinity Deters of Basehor, KS, Colton Deters of Basehor, KS and Brantley Deters of Basehor, KS; and a brother, Norman Seaton of Maryville, IL.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, followed immediately by funeral services at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Johnston officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon.
Memorial contributions may be made to SSM Hospice of Illinois.

I only knew Carl for a short time as a member of "Friends", he was a very nice, friendly man and I know he will be missed by many people
