Charles L. Rodgers, Sr., 87, of Godfrey, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born on August 16, 1926 in Catlessburg, Ky., passed away, Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Alton, Ill.
Charles was a retired from the Old General Motors Assembly Plant, St. Louis, Mo. He was a ordained minister. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Collinsville, Ill.; a member of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International; Toastmaster International Organization; WWII US Marine Corps Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Naomi Rodgers; his parents, Leroy and Anna Mae, nee Kelly, Rodgers; a brother, Tom "Bud" Rodgers; a step-son, Lonnie Dalton.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Rodgers, nee Langdon, of Godfrey, Ill.; two sons and a daughter, Charles (Ellen) Rodgers, Jr. of Bowling Green, Ky., John Rodgers of Collinsville, Ill., Charla L. Rodgers of Phoenix, Ari.; five step-sons and daughters, Alvin (Carmen) Baltrusch of Yuma, Ari., Ronald Baltrusch of Georgetown, Tex., Donald (Sarah) Mayfield of Jackson, Mo., Christy L. (Sherman) Smith Collinsville, Ill., and Kathryn L. (William) Smith of Brighton, Ill.; twenty-four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; a brother, Ed (Betty) Rodgers of Florida.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Pastor Sherman Smith officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill. with full military honors.
