Josephine E. "Jo Anne" Wehling, age 83 of Cottage Hills, IL, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at her residence in Cottage Hills, IL.
She was born on Wednesday, August 07, 1929, in Pisgah, IL, the daughter of? John and Effie (nee Wood) Lukeman. On Saturday, November 25, 1950, she married Lorman P. H. Wehling who survives.
She was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Hamel, IL and VFW Auxiliary, Post 1308, Alton, IL.
Mrs. Wehling was born at Pisgah, IL (near Franklin, IL). She attended school in Jacksonville, IL. She worked for Youngs Department Store, downtown Alton, IL. She lived most of her life in Cottage Hills, IL.
Survivors include her husband, Lorman P. H. Wehling, Cottage Hills, IL; step brother, Wayne Peale, Titusville, FL; brother-in-law, Willis Wehling, Edwardsville, IL; four nephews: Donald (Marilyn) Blackburn, Alton, IL, James Michael (Ann) Baker, Brighton, IL, John (Julie) Wehling, and Roy (Kelly) Wehling; and two nieces, Patricia Rodgers, Delray Beach, FL, and Marla Kay (John) Rosentreter.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Lukeman, and her mother, Effie Mae Lukeman nee Wood; a sister, Rose Irene Baker (died 2010); two step brothers, Oscar Peale, Jr. and James Peale; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Brase and Thea Tenick; a brother-in-law, Leroy Wehling (died as a young child); and a nephew, Leroy Brase.
Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL., with Rev. Benjamin Ball, Pastor, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hamel, IL, officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Hamel, IL.
