Robert Anthony Vignola, age 27, of Edwardsville, Illinois, formerly of Champaign, Illinois, died at 4:55 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Maryville.

He was born on April 5, 1986, in Chicago the son of Marilyn Marks Vignola of Edwardsville and the late Ralph A. Vignola.
Besides his mother, Robert is survived by one brother, Michael F. Vignola of Chicago; paternal grandmother, Lillian Vignola of Oak Park, Illinois; one aunt, Janet Marks & husband Doug Hurcomb of Golden, Colorado; two uncles, Dominic Vignola of Oak Park and Angelo Vignola of Chicago; his guardian and cousin, Michael Marks of Champaign; and two cousins, Wesley Hurcomb and Allison Hurcomb.
Robert served in the U.S. Marine Corp, achieved the order of the Arrow in the Boy Scouts, and was a member of the varsity wrestling team at Champaign Central High School. He attended Parkland College in Champaign. He was passionate about music and was a loyal friend.
A celebration of life luncheon will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013, at the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Edwardsville. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jackie Havis-Shear officiating.
