Catherine L. Bertels, age 55, of Worden, Illinois, died at 12:11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her residence. She was born March 23, 1957, in Highland, Illinois, the daughter of Barbara Semanisin and the late Russell Semanisin. She married Darryl "Red" Bertels on October 13, 2000 in Edwardsville. He survives.

She worked for many years as a bartender at the Idle Hour Bar in Worden and at Cheers in Holiday Shores.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by one son, Billy DeConcini, of Worden; two grandchildren, William DeConcini and Hayley Cordova; one sister, Mickie (Dan) Walters, of St. Louis, Missouri; four brothers: Greg Semanisin, Jamie Semanisin, Dan Semanisin, all of Houston, Texas, and Scott (Mandy) Semanisin, of Omaha, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Jordan Schultz officiating. Burial will be private.
