Charles H. "Chuck" Ursprung, age 59, of Edwardsville, Illinois, died at 11:57 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on August 9, 1953, in Highland, Illinois, the son of Shirley (Hord) Ursprung of Edwardsville, and the late Carl Ursprung. Chuck was a lifetime farmer of the family farm in Edwardsville, which he now owned and operated. He married Jo Ann VanVertloo on January 28, 1977, at Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville. She survives.
Chuck is also survived by two brothers, Craig Ursprung of Edwardsville, Curt Ursprung of Goreville, Illinois; three sisters, Carla Weil of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Cay Ursprung & husband Jim Takace of Edwardsville, Cathy Ursprung-Chue & husband Robert of Dallas, Texas; one uncle, Henry Buck & wife Jean; one brother-in-law, Dave VanVertloo & wife Jane; his mother-in-law, Thelma VanVertloo; and many nieces & nephews.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by one aunt, Evelyn (Ursprung) Green; and his father-in-law, Al VanVertloo.
Chuck was a member of Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Eden Church with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Fort Russell Township, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Eden Church or St. Jude's Hospital.
