Gloria Jean Foster-Brown, 68 of Edwardsville, IL peacefully passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at home. Her family and friends were by her side when she drifted off to be with the Lord.
She was born in Meridian, MS on September 14, 1944. She moved to Edwardsville, with her mother and brother at the age of 4. Jean attended Lincoln School, Columbus and Edwardsville High graduating in June of 1963. She attended Brown Business College in St. Louis, MO.?
Jean was employed by Edwardsville School District for over 25 years as a Media Secretary. She was awarded the Good Apple Award and The Board of Education Employee of the Month.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Lucille (Wilson) Foster: grandmother Lillie Mae Wilson; two uncles Roosevelt and Charles Wilson: two aunts Willie Ella Carpenter and Martha Ann Wilson. She is survived by her three sons Craig Leander Foster, David Allen Brown (Mary Emerick), of Edwardsville, IL and Gerald Anthony Brown of Baltimore, MD. A brother Jack H. Foster, Sr. (Leona Delores) Brooklyn Park, MN. Grandchildren: Dominic LaMar Foster, Malcolm Jamal Foster and Celesta Maria Brown.
Visitation: Thursday April 11, 2013? from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Mt. Joy Missionary Baptist Church, Edwardsville, IL. Funeral, Friday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m
