Reverend Kenneth R. Reiter, 76, of Ankeny passed away October 14, 2014.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2014, at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home, with burial following at Ankeny Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014, also at the funeral home.
Ken was born September 9, 1938 in Edwardsville, IL. He graduated from Edwardsville High School, and went to work for Kroger for 3 years. He then was called to serve in the Army for 2 years at Fort Riley, KS. Upon his return home, he went back to work for Kroger.
On January 19, 1963, he married Ann Foster, and together they had 3 children.
In 1976 he was ordained in the ministry. During his time of ministry, he served five United Church of Christ churches in Iowa: Cromwell, Eagle Grove, Keokuk, DeWitt, and Madrid.
After nearly 35 years in the ministry, he retired and settled in Ankeny. Ken enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and especially his 5 grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his wife Ann; children, Karen (Brent) Schleuger, Susan (Norman) Cloud, Keith (Heather) Reiter; grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, Evan, Hannah, and Abby; 4 siblings, Thelma Klueter, Clyde (Marie) Reiter, Frances Neunaber, and Rev. Allen (Lynn) Reiter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nellie Reiter, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.

Ann and family,
I am a friend of Barb Hummel when I told her about Ken's passing, she asked me to write a note for her as she does not have a computer.She would like to extend her prayers and sympathy to you and your family.She said she has spent a lot of time with you and Ken. She said she was thinking of you.
