Walter R. "Wally" Gorski, age 64, of Edwardsville, Illinois, died at 7:46 a.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013, at his residence.
He was born April 29, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Walter R. & Stella (Magdeczka) Gorski. Wally was a Commercial Realtor for Coldwell Banker Brown Realtors.
He married the love of his life, Evelyn "Evie" Walther, on June 20, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Adam Gorski & wife Kate of West Chester, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Marlene Dubin & husband Jerome of Lemont, Illinois and Geraldine Pignone & husband Rocco of Hickory Hills, Illinois; and many nieces & nephews.
Wally graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago and attended Illinois State University. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville, was facilitator for The Alternative Board, and was a certified Mediator. Before going to work for Coldwell Banker Brown, he was President & co-owner of Midwest Title Insurance in Edwardsville and owner of MPS mortgage in Troy, Illinois. Wally was also an avid golfer, chef, singer, and Republican supporter.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. Boniface, with Father Jeff Goeckner officiating.
He will be cremated according to his wishes. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 1143 or St. Boniface Catholic Church.
